Henri Cernushi - Republican, financial, esthete and collector (1821-1896) Italian patriot, is one of three "hero" who in 1848 freed Milan from Austrian occupation, naturalized Français.Lors his stay in Japan China, he acquired about four thousand works of art that will form the heart of his collection.Le museum was inaugurated October 26, 1898.
The Cernuschi Museum, located on the edge of Monceau park is the second museum of Asian arts in France and the fifth in Europe about the importance of his collection of Chinese art.
